Polly Scarvalone, PhD
(917) 620-9115
I now see adults in individual and couples therapy via telehealth services.  Since I have trained in multiple modes of treatment, from short-term cognitive-behavioral techniques for anxiety and depression to open-ended psychoanalytic exploration of identity and attachment issues, I adapt my approach to suit the person and the problem.

Some of the common issues I work with are mood dysregulation and stress management, work or creative blocks, as well as conflicts in relationships.  I also have special interest and expertise in working with people who are recovering from childhood trauma, with artists and writers, as well as with those finding life's transitions difficult or complicated.

While I am not on any insurance* panels, I will work with you and your insurance company to get reimbursement for out-of-network benefits as needed.  I also have a sliding scale for those with financial limitations.
*except for insurance companies for undergraduate and graduate students at New York University, Columbia        University, and Barnard College, under special arrangement.
